Christina Julsgaard puts lots of positive energy and deep emotion into all of her modern art works. This is brought to life through contrasting and minimalistic shapes that can be experienced in her brass sculptures.
The modern sculptures contribute both to mood, atmosphere, as well as personal growth. Thoughts and feelings are often unsaid, but when an implicit form of communication arises between the artist and the observer, they can be expressed by means of visual manifestation.
Thus, Christina Julsgaard’s unique brass sculptures allow for the release of thoughts and feelings in a unique fashion. Depending on the observer in question, a new experience will unfold every time a sculpture is observed.
Christina Julsgaard’s organic brass sculptures have been produced as dynamic and abstract 3D snippets of her paintings.
All of the brass sculptures are unique, as each sculpture has been cast and treated differently, making its surface one of a kind. Each sculpture has its own imperfect surface with stains, scratches, brushstrokes and individual polish.
Christina Julsgaard forms the abstract artistic foundation in either clay, plaster, wax or fibre-reinforced concrete; an imprint and mould of the original sculpture is then produced, whereafter the actual shape of the sculpture is cast.
Following the casting, the sculptures’ surfaces are treated and the metal is patinated, polished or brushed as per Christina Julsgaard’s instructions.
The sculptures are cast in a small family-owned art foundry, which Christina Julsgaard sought out abroad and keeps in touch with on a regular basis.
Christina Julsgaard loves energy and growth, something that is expressed in all of her works:
“What all of my works have in common is a sort of flow between them, where the expression from my primary medium - my paintings - extends to my ceramic works, and the shapes are recreated in my brass sculptures,” tells Christina Julsgaard.
The small significant sculptures in brass are patinated in gold, black or green whether you wish to incorporate a golden, matte or colourful look in your home. What’s more, they are brushed and polished in order to find the right expression for each sculpture.
A brass sculpture can add that last aesthetic touch to your home and make your everyday life a little more exclusive by means of significant decorative art.
